Buying clothes is hard. But it’s not the actual buying which is tough, deciding which clothes to buy is the tough part. Let’s make it easy for you. Clothes made in India are the best buy.
Because buying clothes from home-grown brands help India’s economic growth.
Don’t worry, wearing Indian brands won’t make you a ‘Desi’. Here are five western-wear brands made in India –
1. Louis Phillipe
The quality materials & subtle elegance in Louis Phillipe’s designs give the feel of a western brand, possibly European. But that presumption is false. Louis Philippe is owned by Madura Fashion & Lifestyle, a company parented by the Aditya Birla Group.
2. Allen Solly
Allen Solly is headed by Madura Fashion & Lifestyle as well. So why would the same company sell clothes under two different brands? Well, it’s to do with the respective brand’s marketing. While Louis Phillipe markets formals, Allen Solly markets smart-casuals.
3. Flying Machine
Flying Machine, one of the coolest denim brands in India, is not a foreign brand. It’s designed, manufactured & retailed by Arvind Limited, India’s largest denim manufacturer. So the next time you’re looking for an Indian pair of jeans, buy flying machine.
4. Monte Carlo
Launched in 1984, Monte Carlo sells smart casual wears. Back then, started out as a brand specialising in woollens & hosiery clothing. Named after a city in Monaco, Oswal Woollen Mills Ltd runs the company. It is the flagship organisation of Nahar group.
5. Van Heusen
Van Heusen is another international initiative by Madura Fashion & Lifestyles. Unlike the other two Birla Groups in this list, Van Heusen retails premium formals only.
